A Musical Garden

The newest addition to the Franklin/Adelante garden is a handmade marimba from a community member.  I hung it after school in our flowering crape myrtle, and pretty soon the little ones appeared with rocks and sticks to make their own rhythms.  We have plans for other built-in musical instruments to accompany them!

  1. I love it…..music and gardens – a wonderful marriage. And what a great gift from the Franklin/Adelante community.

  2. What an amazing gift to the students!

  3. This is absolutely beautiful on many levels!

  4. The marimba in the garden is wonderful. We may try this in our garden, too. We also plan on having a rotating exhibit of student art on the fence behind our beautiful garden beds at Washington Elementary in Santa Barbara.
